June is National Cancer Survivors Month — a time to celebrate strength, hope, and healing.

If you or someone you love has faced cancer, you know that survivorship is more than a word. It’s a journey marked by courage, resilience, and an unshakable will to keep moving forward.

This month, we take time to celebrate those who’ve made it through, recognize the challenges that remain, and reaffirm our commitment to supporting every step of that journey, especially for children and families facing the life-altering impact of childhood cancer.

Give in honor of every survivor’s fight.

At Children's Cancer Cause, we’re committed to making survivorship not just possible, but powerful — for every child diagnosed with cancer. Your gift helps us advocate for better treatments, provide resources for families, and drive research that improves the lifelong health of childhood cancer survivors.

This National Cancer Survivors Month, honor the strength of all survivors by supporting the work that helps them heal, grow, and thrive. Make your impact today.

Educational Resources to Empower Survivors

While life-threatening late effects can be less severe for survivors diagnosed in recent years, most survivors will still experience life-altering impacts that tend to worsen or multiply over time. Second cancers, heart and lung damage, osteoporosis, financial pressures, school re-integration, employment, and infertility are among the challenges survivors face. Many are unaware and/or unprepared to face a lifetime of impaired health and quality of life.

Launched in 2019, our Stewart Initiative for Childhood Cancer Survivors provides a roadmap of resources to help. Through self-guided modules, the program addresses key issues around long-term follow-up care, late effects, healthy living, insurance, education and employment, relationships, and social and emotional health.

Comprehensive Cancer Survivorship Legislation

The Lainie Jones Comprehensive Cancer Survivorship Act (HR 8839) was reintroduced on May 14th in the House of Representatives. This bipartisan legislation will help create a more coordinated, patient-centered system that supports survivors not just during treatment but throughout the rest of their lives. Several of the provisions in this comprehensive survivorship legislation directly address issues faced by the nation's 521,000 childhood cancer survivors along the continuum of survivorship care.

We're particularly proud that this bill would ensureMedicaid coverage of healthcare transition services for survivors of childhood and adolescent cancer,a provision Children's Cancer Cause helped develop and provided technical feedback on. This bill will help survivors better understand their care and avoid falling through cracks after treatment.

During Cancer Survivors Month, please join us in asking Congress to cosponsor the Lainie Jones Comprehensive Cancer Survivorship Act. Take action here.
