A Special Evening in New York City

Last week, we gathered with friends, supporters, and advocates for our annual New York Event at the storied and historic Burden Mansion in New York City. It was a gorgeous and inspiring evening, and we are pleased to share highlights here with you - for those who were able to join us and those who could not.

At the event, we recognized Dr. Michael Link with our 10th annual Leonard M. Rosen Memorial Research Award. Throughout his career, Dr. Link has been a steadfast champion for advancing public health and public policy to affect the lives of patients and their families. His clinical insights have contributed to better care delivery and remarkable advances in survival rates. Learn more about Dr. Link and the Rosen Award here.

“In our current environment, there are multiple challenges facing us. Devastating cuts to research, less predictable regulatory environment, and an assault on science with head-spinning consequences,” said Dr. Link in accepting the award and expressing gratitude for his public platform as co-chair of the Alliance for Childhood Cancer and former chair of ASCO. “Advocacy has become more important than ever for our patients and our families. I’m grateful to Children’s Cause for all the education and support they have provided for me, and continue to provide.”

To those who attended: Thank you for being a part of this special evening. Our deepest appreciation to event co-chairs Susan and Stephen Scherr for the work they do every year to bring everyone together. The dedication and support of the entire Scherr family has been an integral part of our growth and success as an organization representing the unique needs and perspectives of children with cancer, their families, and survivors.
