College Scholars Program

The 2021 application deadline has now passed. Check back for information about the 2022 program.

Children’s Cancer Cause is pleased to offer an annual opportunity for childhood cancer survivors to gain valuable cancer advocacy experience. Two award recipients will receive a scholarship of $2,000 via our College Scholars Program. Depending on fund availability, Children’s Cancer Cause may award additional scholarships of a smaller dollar amount.

Our College Scholars Program includes a requirement* of completing a childhood cancer advocacy project of the scholar’s choice. Projects could be as extensive as a summer internship in our DC office to something more local, like organizing an awareness event in your hometown or mobilizing other students at your school in a letter-writing campaign to lawmakers.

*Scholarship recipients will receive the first half ($1,000) upon completion of a project planning call with our team. The remainder ($1,000) will be awarded after successful completion of the survivor’s advocacy project.

Meet our 2020 Scholars, in this video and at this link.

Your creativity is encouraged, and you’ll receive mentorship and support from our team toward completing your chosen project. You may find it helpful to read about the projects chosen by prior award recipients: 2020 Scholars / 2018 & 2019 Scholars
